Thanks to readers for the recommendations on popular spots to grab a bite in the neighborhood. Click map above or here to find favorite places to eat tacos, have a slice, grab a sweet treat for breakfast and slurp hot noodle soup. Have we missed any of your favorites? Leave a comment and I’ll add it to the map.

  1. I would like to recommend Jerry Bagels on 4th Ave. at the corner of 37th St. Just opened about 3-4 months ago, they make there bagels in house with homemade cream cheese flavors as well. Reasonably priced. Also serves Boar’s Head Deli sandwiches. I love their flavored coffees too! (Chocolate Rapsberry & Pumpkin are the best!)

  2. Jerry’s is now on the map. Thanks for the tip.

  3. Another addition!

Nyonya Malyasian Cuisine. 8th ave. in the mid 50’s somewhere. Great Malaysian food, fast service. Love the potato pancakes with chicken curry dipping sauce. Roommate loves their multiple protein pad thai as well.

  4. Mai Thai at 4618 8th Avenue has a cheap lunch menu, as does Maria’s Bistro Mexicano on 5th Avenue.
